About us
What is Cedar Bluff Farragut Optimist (CBFO)?
The Cedar Bluff Farragut Optimist (CBFO) is a non-profit 501(c) organization. CBFO was started in the 1950’s and serves the West Knoxville community through a variety of service projects and youth sports programs. CBFO currently focuses on four core sports for boys and girls ages 4 –19: Youth Football, Girls Fast-Pitch Softball, Girls Volleyball, and Boys and Girls Basketball.
We are especially proud of our scholarship program which awards thousands of dollars annually to former CBFO participants. These programs focus on serving the Farragut community by giving back to those who have served others. CBFO is also very active in our local schools through the subsidization of local school programs and facilities with over $50,000 in donations since 2000.
About CBFO Youth Basketball
CBFO Basketball is a youth basketball league aimed at providing a fun environment for learning and playing the game of basketball in our community. CBFO’s goal is to strive toward maximizing player’s potential on and off the court while developing a love for the great team sport of basketball. CBFO encourages good sportsmanship by emphasizing positive behavior and respect among players, coaches, officials, and parents.
CBFO offers two leagues, a REC league and a BYO Team League. These leagues range in ages from 5-14. Games and practices take place within the Knox County Schools.
CBFO basketball is a non-profit organization managed by a Commissioner and members of the CBFO Board. All Volunteer coaches go through a thorough background check to ensure we have the right adults interacting with our youth players.
CBFO basketball is dedicated to helping each participant develop a love for the game of basketball, work toward real improvement on the court and beyond, and carry out the CBFO mission of building character and shaping lives through the game of basketball. The basis of our mission comes from a desire to demonstrate proper leadership in character for our youth and their families.
